ERASMUS+ KA103 Call for Application - Student mobility for traineeships for the 2018/2019 Academic Year

ERASMUS+

Erasmus+ is the new program of the European Union launched in 2014. The program involves the education, training, youth and sport activities, uniting several currently running programmes (amongst them Comenius, Leonardo, Erasmus mobility, Erasmus Intensive Programmes, European Joint Master Programmes, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus Program, Jean Monet Programmes).

1. The objective of the Call for Application

Student mobility for traineeship is a period spent at an enterprise or an organisation. The aim of the placement is to help students acquire new competences which are relevant in the labour market and to understand the social culture of the host country. The host institution/company is private and public organisation active in the field of the labour market or education, training or youth, except for National Offices and EU –bodies.

2. Eligible participants

Registered students at the University of Debrecen (BSc, MSc, PhD, higher-level vocational training, full time students, correspondence students) with valid student status.

3. Eligible Activities

Student mobility for traineeship (2-12 months)

Combined mobility (for studies and a complementary traineeship period)  (3-12 months);

4. Countries participating in the ERASMUS+ programme

Member states of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, United Kingdom, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Netherland, Croatia, Ireland, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Hungary, Malta, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden)

Non-EU member states:  Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Turkey, Norway.

5. Conditions to be met to apply for an ERAMUS+ Scholarship

Hungarian citizenship or staying in Hungary with a residence permit. Student registered in the University of Debrecen and enrolled in studies leading to a recognized degree or other recognised tertiary level qualification in a full- , or part-time..

Recent graduates can also participate in the Erasmus+ student mobility for traineeship within 12 months after their graduation (in this case student have to submit their applications before obtaining their certificate/degree and in case of successful application they have to sign the grant agreement before graduation.)

Teaching apprenticeship/Assistantship is also considered as an Erasmus+ student placement. Assistant teachers can submit their applications from the academic year 2015/2016 in the frame of the ERAMUS+ Call for Application.

The applicant must have finished at least 2 semesters of university studies at the time of applying (for Master or Doctoral students the semesters from their previous studies can be taken into account).

The applicant must meet the requirements set by the sending institution.

The study period can be combined with complementary traineeship. The combination of the two periods means that the traineeship should be done under the supervision of the same host higher education institution where the student carries out his/her studies. The two activities must take place sequentially. Grant amounts for the "combined period" are the same as that of the study period. 

Students may receive grants for mobility totalling up to 12 months per each cycle of study, independently from the number and type of mobility activities (zero grant is included in the mobility period)

In the frame of this Call for Proposal students should implement their traineeship in the period of 1 July 2018 – 30 September 2019.

One tier programmes cover two training cycles, thus students enrolled in such (one–tier) training programmes may receive grants for mobility periods totalling up to 2*12 =24 months.

The duration of the mobility period for traineeships is 2-12 months .

Activities /studies carried out during the mobility must be integrated in the applicant's training program / studies at the University of Debrecen.

The receiving institution must issue a certificate of the results achieved by the student upon completing the internship at the receiving institution/enterprise.

The training period at the host institution/company must be fully recognised by the University of Debrecen in accordance with the terms laid down in the Learning Agreement for Traineeships. (Except in the case of mobility for traineeships fulfilled after the graduation)

During the mobility students stay registered at the University of Debrecen. They are considered full students of the UD and are fully entitled for the stipends and student loans. Stipends and social contributions that students are eligible for at the University of Debrecen will continue to be transferred to them during their period of study abroad.

In case of fulfilling the internship at a Higher Education Institution ERASMUS+ students do not have to pay tuition fee to the host university, but if they are fee paying students at the University of Debrecen, they will have to fulfil this requirement during the period spent abroad as well. 

Participants must have active students status in the sending institution until the end of the mobility period, except for traineeships carried out after graduation.

 

The applicant must possess the required language knowledge (language requirements of the host institution/enterprise) and confirm it credibly at the assessment of the application.

The location (host country) of the ERASMUS+ student placement cannot be the student’s country of nationality/residence.

In case of student mobility for traineeships – taking into account the specific characteristics of each faculty – faculties can specify further obligations.

6. Documents to be submitted along with the application

All documents must be submitted electronically (scanned originals in pdf format) through the online application system!

BSc students must submit a certificate of all finished semesters (at least 2 semesters). PhD/MSc/MA students must submit NEPTUN certificates of the last four completed semesters. (PhD/MSc/MA students must include a certificate of the semesters of their BSc studies). NEPTUN certificates must include all the subjects completed during the studies as well the scholarship index. The certificates must be validated by the Educational Office of the Faculty (pdf)

A certificate of language knowledge (language exam certificate in the language of the studies, or a certificate issued by the Language Centre of the university) (pdf)

CV in English or Hungarian in Europass format (pdf)

A motivation letter, written in English, that includes the personal goals, the name of the University, the period which the student is applying for, and a short summary of the work/studies to be carried out at the partner university (submitted through the corresponding field of the eonline application form)

BSc and MSc students must submit a statement from the faculty or departmental coordinator (pdf)

PhD students must submit a statement from the head of the Doctoral School and from the supervisor

Further requirements can be set up by the faculty /departmental coordinators

Certificate of scientific work/research (not compulsory)

Recommendation (not compulsory)

7. Requirements for outgoing ERASMUS+ students

The application must be approved by the Erasmus committee or coordinator of the respected faculty. A certificate on active student status issued for the relevant semester must be submitted.

The application must be accepted by the host higher education institution.

A learning agreement signed by all three parties (home institution, host institution, applicant) must be made.

Permission of the Faculty Study Subcommittee (if the respected Faculty requires it)

Valid EU health insurance card or proof of insurance policy valid in the host university’s country

A valid student visa to the target country, if necessary

Completing the Online Linguistic Support test of the European Commission if the student completes his/her studies in one of the languages designated by the EU Commission.

8. Scholarship rates:

The scholarship consists of the following:

Programme Countries with higher living costs - 520 € / month

Bulgaria (BG), Czech Republic (CZ), Estonia (EE), Croatia (HR), Hungary (HU), Lithuania (LT), Latvia (LV), Poland (PL), Romania (RO), Slovenia (SI), Slovakia (SK), Macedonia (MK), Turkey (TR))

Special needs support: for persons with disabilities the subsidy will be calculated on the actual expenses

Online Linguistic Support: the European Commission supports language preparation in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Czech, Danish, Greek, Polish and Swedish with its online language preparation system

Social subsidy: 100€/month - based on separate application

9. Deadlines

Deadline for submitting the application: 20. March 2018 for SMP places guaranteed in Inter-Institutional Agreements, otherwise continuous.

Deadline for judging the applications: continuous

Applications must be submitted only electronically.
